The design of the cuckoo clock was based around the Grimms' Fairy Tale story of Rapunzel.  All elements of the clock were aimed to appear as though they were carved from wood.  Each object, figure, and element was carefully researched, 3D modeled and textured to match the overall aesthetic and work together to bring the story of Rapunzel to life.
